Good morning Taulant, Chuck Anania here, your rep and the owner of 1Call Restore. I just want to say how much I love reading stories like this from our neighbors! We truly believe in being "good neighbors" and if my crew is already on the block working on a project, we are more than happy to take a quick look at a nearby roof to ensure everything is solid. Catching that "small issue" right away likely saved you from a major interior restoration headache once the heavy spring rains hit New Jersey later this month. While some guys see a neighbor in need as an opportunity to overcharge or "find" problems that aren't there, we believe in honest and meticulous service because we want to be the team you trust for the next 20 years, not just for a one-time quick fix. Since it is March already, we are officially in the "Spring Thaw" window which is the time of year when we see the most "phantom leaks" in NJ properties. The extreme freeze-thaw cycles of January and February can often cause roofing sealants and flashing around chimneys or vents to crack, so it is a great time to ensure your seals are still watertight. Now that the ice has finally melted, you should also take a look at your shingles from the ground to see if any look "lifted" or curled from being caught by ice dams. Finally, make sure your downspouts are directing water at least three to five feet away from your foundation to prevent basement flooding as the ground thaws out. Taulant, would you like me to have Ryan put you on our "Spring Health Check" list for a full 14-point inspection once the rainy season officially kicks off in April? give me a call!
