Gas main buried in vault on side of house. Gas company shut off gas - due to neighbors walking down sidewalk smelling gas. Gas company shut off gas but DID NOT LOCK METER.

Will dig up around outside of gas vault box to expose old piping in ground.

ATTEMPT to repair leak by cutting out exposed rotted piping and trying to tie back onto existing piping with good threads. Test repaired section for leaks and turn gas back on. Relight necessary pilots in home if applicable. No guarantee that existing piping in ground that cannot be seen is in good enough condition to tie into.

— If existing piping cannot be safely tied onto- gas line will need replacing and gas pipe location company will need to be called out. Replacement estimate will be given at that time
