Descale RX Filter 3/4"

Install a 3/4-inch Descale RX filter system to treat hard water and prevent scale buildup in water heaters and plumbing systems, enhancing efficiency and extending equipment lifespan. Utilizing Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) technology, the filter converts dissolved calcium and magnesium into non-adhesive microcrystals that flow through the system without forming limescale deposits. This is particularly beneficial for water heaters, as scale can reduce heating efficiency by up to 30%, increase energy costs, and cause premature failure. The 3/4-inch size is ideal for residential applications with standard water lines, offering a low-maintenance, salt-free, and electricity-free solution that is environmentally friendly. Installation includes bypass and shut-off valves for easy maintenance, ensuring consistent water quality and protection for household plumbing in areas with hard water.

Location: Interior/Exterior (Near Water Heater or Main Water Line)

Tasks:

Preparation:

1. Locate optimal installation point on 3/4-inch main water line or water heater inlet.

2. Shut off main water supply and drain affected piping section to prevent water loss.

3. Set up work area with tools (pipe cutter, wrench, compression fittings, PPE) and drop cloths.

Filter Installation:

1. Install 3/4-inch Descale RX filter housing with catalytic media cartridge, following manufacturer specifications.

2. Connect filter to water line using copper or PEX piping with compression or threaded fittings.

3. Install bypass valve and shut-off valves to facilitate maintenance and cartridge replacement.

System Integration:

1. Secure filter housing to wall or floor with mounting brackets to ensure stability.

2. Verify correct flow direction through filter (inlet/outlet per manufacturer markings).

3. Ensure filter is accessible for cartridge replacements every 1-2 years, based on water hardness.

Testing:

1. Restore water supply and perform pressure test to check for leaks at all connections.

2. Run water through filter to confirm adequate flow rate and no restrictions.

3. Test water heater or fixtures to verify normal operation post-installation.

Cleanup and Final Steps:

1. Clean work area and dispose of debris per local regulations.

2. Provide client with filter manual and maintenance schedule for cartridge replacement.

3. Conduct walkthrough to explain filter benefits, operation, and maintenance requirements.

Amount to collect when done: $3837.00
