Installation of a Noritz NRCR111 tankless gas water heater in a garage, replacing an existing tank unit, with built-in recirculation pump.Sold by: Derek

Tasks:Preparation and Shutoff:
1. Shut off gas supply valve
2. Turn off electrical breaker for GFCI outlet installation
3. Close main water supply
4. Drain existing tank water heater to empty tank
Removal of Existing Unit:1. Disconnect gas line from tank heater
2. Detach cold and hot water supply lines
3. Remove and dispose of old tank unit per local regulations
New Tankless Water Heater Installation:1. Position Noritz NRCR111 unit with adequate clearance per code
2. Install GFCI outlet by Conejo Electrician per NEC standards (120V, 15A minimum)
3. Connect new stainless steel water supply lines (cold and hot) to top-mounted connections
4. Install isolation valve kit on cold and hot water lines for flushing and servicing
5. Install 1/4-turn ball valve on cold water inlet
6. Install expansion tank, adjusted to home water pressure (typically 50-60 PSI)
7. Fit new gas shutoff valve on gas line
8. Attach new flexible gas supply line with sediment trap
9. Secure unit with wall-mounting brackets
10. Reconnect to existing T&P relief valve exit point
11. Install venting per Noritz specs (e.g., 3-inch up to 150 ft)
12. Configure built-in recirculation pump with return line per client needs
13. Insulate water supply and return lines for efficiency
14. Install copper bonding wire from water lines to gas line for grounding
Testing and Startup:1. Pressure-test gas and water connections for leaks
2. Fill system and purge air from lines
3. Test T&P relief valve operation
4. Turn on breaker for GFCI outlet and verify power to unit
5. Light pilot, set temperature to 120°F (or per client preference) via remote thermostat, and confirm burner ignition
6. Validate recirculation pump operation and full status (0.5-11.1 GPM flow, 18,000-199,900 BTU/h)
Cleanup and Final Steps:1. Clear debris from work area
2. Haul away old tank unit for disposal
3. Conduct final inspection with client walkthrough
