Single Handle Tub/Shower Valve

Installation of a new single-handle tub/shower valve to provide reliable temperature and flow control.

Location: Tub/Shower

Tasks:

Preparation:

1. Shut off water supply to tub/shower (valve or main line).

2. Remove old valve, handle, and trim plate via access panel or wall.

3. Set up work area with drop cloth and tools (wrench, pipe cutter).

Valve Installation:

1. Install new single-handle valve body (copper or PEX connections).

2. Solder or crimp fittings to existing hot/cold lines per code.

3. Mount valve securely and attach trim plate, handle, and diverter.

Testing:

1. Turn on water supply and check for leaks at connections.

2. Test valve for hot/cold mixing, flow, and diverter function.

3. Adjust pressure balance or scald guard if applicable.

Cleanup and Final Steps:

1. Wipe down tub/shower area to remove debris.

2. Dispose of old valve per local regulations.

3. Conduct client walkthrough to demonstrate operation.

Notes:

- Includes standard pressure-balance valve; thermostatic models quoted separately.

- Wall access or tile repairs quoted separately if needed.

- Advise client to test valve periodically for smooth operation.
