Scope of Work:

Replacement of existing 50-gallon gas water heater, including all necessary tasks to ensure code compliance and proper operation.

Location of existing water heater: Garage

Tasks and Descriptions:

1. Initial Inspection and Shutoff

a. Turn off gas supply

b. Shut off water supply

c. Drain existing water heater

2. Removal of Old Water Heater

a. Disconnect gas line

b. Disconnect water supply lines

c. Proper disposal of old unit (local regulations apply)

3. Installation of New Water Heater

a. Position new water heater ensuring proper clearance

b. Install new drain pan

c. Install new stainless steel water supply lines

d. Install new 1/4 turn ball valve

e. Install expansion tank and set pressure according to home water pressure

f. Install new gas shut off valve

g. Install new flexible gas supply line

h. Install gas sediment trap

i. Install new Unistrut mounting and earthquake straps

j. install new copper line approximately 30’ to the front of the garage

k. Insulate water supply lines

l. Install copper bonding wire from copper water feeds to the gas line

m. Install sheet metal to the base

4. Venting and Combustion Air

c. Ensure proper combustion air

5. Testing and Inspection

a. Leak test gas and water connections

b. Fill and purge water heater

c. Test T&P relief valve

d. Light pilot and set temperature

e. Verify proper operation of water heater

6. Clean-Up and Final Inspection

a. Clean work area

b. Haul away old water heater

c. Final inspection and client walk through
