At EZ Exteriors LLC, we began by removing the existing garage door and constructing a new exterior wall with robust 2x6 framing and borate-treated base plates to ensure durability. This new wall was fortified with sheathing, Tyvek, and an ice-and-water shield for superior moisture protection. We then installed a custom six-foot fan-lite French door alongside a window designed to the homeowner's specifications, providing both elegance and functionality.
To create a cohesive appearance, EZ Exteriors LLC framed a new covered overhang using 4x4 posts, beams, and rafters, seamlessly integrating it into the existing structure. The overhang was roofed with metal that matches the home's original green color. Our team re-clad the newly framed front with Tuff Rib metal panel siding, ensuring a precise color match with the current exterior, and added custom metal wraps around the door and window for a polished finish.
We further enhanced the entry by pouring a new concrete pad and skirting the home’s foundation with rigid foam insulation topped by a brown metal wainscot. Custom-bent transition flashing was added to protect the foundation, resulting in a neat and finished bottom line. Additionally, we managed the removal and disposal of an obsolete water tank from the property, fulfilling the homeowner's request for an updated and clean environment.
We have completed the installation of Trex composite decking on a custom black A-frame cabin in Island Park, Idaho. Our skilled team at EZ Exteriors LLC meticulously installed Trex decking across the first- and second-floor balconies using hidden fasteners to ensure a smooth, fastener-free surface. We carefully ran the boards in the specified direction and added a finished front edge board for a sharp, intentional look that enhances the modern mountain aesthetic.
For the entryway, we crafted a set of 8-foot-wide stairs on leveled concrete pavers, cladding them in matching Trex to seamlessly connect with the rest of the decking work. Given the unique climate of Island Park, waterproofing details were given paramount importance. We installed an ice-and-water shield on the upper balcony decks, along with drip-edge flashing along the second-story balcony and kickout flashing where the deck meets the structure. All flashing was done in black metal to match the cabin's existing trim and panels.
