We had damage to our roof from a Spring hailstorm this year. The shingles that were on the roof were CertainTeed Cottage House shingles (60-year shingle) with at least 30 years of life, before the storm anyway. The insurance company really had no experience with this type of shingle and consequently, greatly undervalued the replacement costs.
