We had George re-shingle our roof. He was informative and friendly, and he told us he would do the job for what our insurance would pay for. He also assured us that he would take extra care not to damage our brand-new gutters. (He even asked who had installed them because he liked them so much.) We did have one issue which was completely out of GKG's control. We had a wind storm the day after the work was done, before the shingles had had time to completely seal. A few shingles blew off. ... Initially, my insurance wanted to repair my roof instead of replacing it. I called George to get a quote. He reviewed the work my insurance wanted to do and he told me that with the amount of shingles my insurance wanted to replace, my roof would look like a checkerboard because of the color differences between the old and new shingles. George came out to inspect the condition of 17 year old roof because we had a leak. He went around to each section of the roof, talking with us as we walked around with him on the ground. During the inspection, he pointed out some things that the previous roofer should have done, but weren't the cause of the leak. He determined an area around one of the windows was the cause, and described to us how we could repair it ourselves. He said the roof was showing it's age, but still had some life left... Read more
