After last year’s hail storm in hit Aurora, we helped this homeowner restore this property by replacing the roof, siding, gutters, and downspouts. While the installation went smoothly, the process took some time as we helped the homeowner navigate the insurance claim to ensure full and proper coverage. As part of that process, we submitted a shingle sample to ITEL. ITEL is a third-party lab that analyzes the physical characteristics of roofing materials to determine if a suitable match exists.
In Ohio, state law requires that replacement shingles must provide a reasonably uniform appearance. If a match isn’t available due to discontinuation or other factors, a full roof replacement may be warranted to maintain the home’s value and curb appeal.
