The gutter helmet product is true to its name in that it shields the gutter from a buildup of leaves. However, in our case, it has a fatal flaw in the winter months that were never explained. Part of the installation on our home is over an entrance deck. Rain and melting snow resulted in ice formation in the gutter with icicles dripping on the deck and icing the deck proving to be a safety hazard that almost resulted in serious injury from a fall on dangerously iced deck and stairs.
