A homeowner in Birmingham's Altadena Woods neighborhood contacted H2O Waterproofing after noticing a basement moisture problem that had continued to get worse. The home was built in 1990, and the moisture was concentrated along the front side of the house.

During our inspection, we found that grading around the home was contributing to hydrostatic pressure, which was forcing groundwater through the basement wall-floor joint.

H2O Waterproofing installed a complete interior basement waterproofing system designed to capture and manage the water intrusion.

Work completed:

  • 47 linear feet of H2O Interior Basement Waterproofing System
  • 215 sq. ft. of H2O Flex-Seal 12-mil foundation wall vapor barrier
  • 160 sq. ft. of H2O Rigid Durawall waterproofing panels
  • H2O sump pump ejector system with sealed basin and 3/4 HP pump
  • New discharge system

The project was completed in 3 days and is backed by H2O's non-expiring, fully transferable lifetime warranty where applicable to the installed waterproofing system.

The homeowner in the Irondale subdivision noticed musty smells and water inside the crawl space after heavy rains. Our inspection found water that is seeping up through the ground under the crawl space and causing it to flood. H2O Waterproofing installed a full crawl space encapsulation 825 square feet of vapor barrier installed on walls and floors help keep moisture & pests outside. We also installed with 56 linear feet of interior drainage, a sump pump system, and crawl space dehumidifier to decrease excess humidity and improve indoor air quality inside the home.

Overall, I had a really decent experience with this company. There was a few issues, but they made them right and we’re very great about communicating with me and getting back in contact with me and it’s not what happens sometimes that’s how you handle it. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with the work and this seems like a great company to do business with. I work in the home service industry myself doing something different than waterproofing and foundation work and they checked all my boxes.

Brandy Horst of H2O Waterproofing & Foundation came to my home to ascertain why water was pooling in our garage. Ours is a slab built home so groundwater was suspected.
