Project Title

Insurance Roof Replacement, Full Redeck & Gutter Replacement in Brownsburg, Indiana

Project Description

This residential storm-restoration project in Brownsburg, Indiana began after an inspection revealed missing shingles and exposed roof decking that had been taking on rain and beginning to deteriorate. The homeowner’s insurance carrier initially denied the roof claim, so the project required a more involved insurance-resolution process before replacement work could move forward.

We continued working with the homeowner by requesting a reinspection, bringing in a public adjuster, and ultimately taking the claim through appraisal. That process resulted in approval for a full roof replacement rather than a limited repair. The approved scope also included a complete redeck of the main structure, providing a solid, secure nailable surface for the new roofing system, along with gutter work. The project ultimately included new roofing on three structures.

For the finished roof, the homeowner selected Owens Corning shingles in Onyx Black, paired with black gutters and downspouts for a clean, coordinated exterior appearance.

This project was especially meaningful because the homeowner is a firefighter who serves and protects the local community. After a lengthy insurance process, it was rewarding to advocate for someone who spends his career helping others and to see the project move from an initially denied claim to a comprehensive roofing restoration.

Meadowlark Drive Storm Restoration with Onyx Black Roof and Sandstone Beige Siding

Project Description

March 2023 storm damage at this Whiteland house included displaced gutters, shingle pull-throughs, damaged roof vents and impacted siding. Field notes describe the destroyed backyard shed and identify the house for construction. Indy Roof & Restoration submitted estimates, ITEL comparison photographs and sample receipts while moving ahead with the covered roof and gutters. Subsequent revisions approved full siding and house wrap.

The house roof was completed August 4, 2023, with Owens Corning Oakridge AR shingles and ProEdge caps in Onyx Black. The final order includes Tarco LeakBarrier MS300, RhinoRoof UDL, Starter Strip Plus, twelve Black static vents, Black edge metals, three pipe flashings and an exhaust cap. Labor records specify 93 linear feet of hip and ridge and a 25-square tear-off/install scope. The October 23 gutter order then completed 128 linear feet of first-story gutters and 78 linear feet of downspouts.

The homeowner selected Sandstone Beige CertainTeed MainStreet five-inch Dutch lap with eight-inch Board & Batten gable accents. Production set the contract to the available eight-inch product and obtained the signed siding change before special ordering, with an eight-to-twelve-week lead time. The final June 2024 installation used Norandex house wrap, window/door flashing tape, White trim accessories and TruExterior band-board material. Its completed labor scope records 14 squares of lap siding, two squares of Board & Batten, seven OSB installation units for gables, 67 linear feet of trim, six window wraps and 76 linear feet of custom fascia wrap.

The homeowner was satisfied after her June 25 review, and a completion certificate was uploaded.

These guys are excellent. Extremely professional, reliable, and . communicative. Lavell was my project manager and he was awesome. I had to get him out for quotes several times for a project on a house I was buying (sellers were trying to hide problems and fake fixes but weren't smart enough to get away with it) and Lavell happily kept coming back out and getting me the info I needed each time. When it came time to complete the job, the crew did fantastic work - very thorough and looks great. Th... Read more

IndyRoof & Restoration did a great job from beginning to completion. The field inspector, Mark Sopke, was my initial and ongoing contact through the entire project. Can’t think of anything else he could have done to make the process easier. Highly recommend both Mark and IndyRoof. I even called my insurance agent and told them how good they were.

We hired Indy Roof & Restoration (IR&R) to replace our roof and gutters this summer, and we are very happy with the result! We had taken some storm damage (hail and wind) last winter, and IR&R was able to work with our homeowner's insurance to get the majority of the replacement paid for! We are also very happy that IR&R is a certified installer of Malarkey shingles. Funny name, I know, but these might actually be the best shingles money can buy. We went with Malarkey Legacy shingles, as we want... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

We have been creating five-star experiences since 2018 and have built a team that takes the stress out of roofing and home restoration. With over 1,500 five-star Google reviews and a consistent A+ BBB rating, our reputation speaks for itself, but what we are most proud of is how we treat people when things go wrong. We are available 24/7, we offer financing for eligible clients, and we assist homeowners through the insurance claims process from start to finish. One of our customers had a roof replacement approved through insurance after other contractors said it could not be done, and that is exactly the kind of advocacy we bring to every job.

Yes, navigating a storm damage claim is one of the things we do best. When hail, wind, or rain damages your roof, we conduct a thorough inspection with photo documentation so you have a clear record of everything that was affected. We assist you through the entire claims process, working directly with your insurance company to make sure all damage is properly reported and covered. Homeowners across Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and the surrounding Indiana communities have relied on us to get approvals that other contractors could not secure.

Yes, and this is one of the things that genuinely sets us apart. Beyond residential roofing, commercial roofing, and gutter installation and repair, we also offer vinyl siding installation, James Hardie siding installation, window replacement, skylight installation, attic insulation, interior and exterior painting, and water and fire restoration services. We even provide mold removal for homes affected by water damage. Whether your home needs one service or a full restoration after a major event, we handle it all under one roof so you are never managing multiple contractors or wondering who is responsible for what.

It starts with a free inspection. We come out, assess the condition of your roof, take photos, and give you an honest recommendation on whether repair or full replacement makes more sense for your situation. If insurance is involved, we help you through that process as well. Once you decide to move forward, we work with you on scheduling, material selection, and financing if needed, and we keep you informed at every stage. Our goal is to make a stressful situation feel manageable, not more complicated.

Yes, community involvement is a core part of who we are, not just a line on a website. We proudly support Fountains of Hope, which works to provide clean drinking water in third-world nations, and Habitat for Humanity, where we provide free roofing for homes being built or renovated for families in need. For us, being a good roofing company means being a good neighbor, and the work we do in the Indianapolis community and beyond is a reflection of the values we bring to every project we take on.
