Estate Gray Two-Slope Roof Restoration with Rafter, Skylight and Interior Repairs

Project Description

A hole in the Fishback Road home’s roof and a broken rafter made this Indianapolis insurance restoration more involved than a shingle-only repair. The agreed roofing work covered two selected slopes, with structural decking work, three skylight flashings and related interior repairs. Fascia and selected gutters formed another phase.

Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles and ProEdge caps were selected in Estate Gray, with Starter Strip Plus, Tarco LeakBarrier MS300 and ABC PRO-Guard 20. Black edge metal, pipe flashings and Broan exhaust components accompanied Lomanco static vents and a LomanCool powered vent. The slope containing the skylights had additional ice-and-water protection planned. Roofing work included 51 linear feet of hip/ridge and 17 linear feet of wall flashing.

The damaged framing required coordination beyond the standard roofing-material delivery. A long replacement framing member was sourced through Chisholm for the planned repair, and flatbed pickup was arranged. Decking work addressed the existing board system and OSB sheathing around the repair.

The existing skylights required reflashing, with VELUX helping identify a flashing kit after a custom-metal approach had been considered. The crew used flashing kits for the three existing skylights. A separate electrician was designated for the hardwired powered-vent connection. Roof labor for the Fishback Road slopes was completed in July 2025.

Interior repair followed the roof work, addressing ceiling drywall, insulation and painting. That trade was confirmed complete in July, and the gutter phase followed with Dark Gray trim coil. The selected drainage scope included 183 linear feet of six-inch gutters and 60 linear feet of fascia-board replacement with metal wrap. The crew also put the pre-existing gutter screens back in place.

Insurance review addressed eave ice-and-water protection, starter coverage at rakes and eaves, valley-cut waste and careful removal and replacement of skylight flashings. Safeco’s supplement team approved overhead and profit for non-roofing items. The project combined roofing, structural repair, skylight flashing, interior work and fascia/gutter work.

Insurance Roof, Gutter, and Metal Porch Restoration in Greenwood, Indiana

This residential insurance restoration in Greenwood, Indiana involved a full roof replacement, full gutter and downspout replacement, and metal front porch work through a USAA insurance claim. The project also included additional exterior repairs and supplementation as the full scope of work was established.

During the roof replacement, significant decking conditions were discovered. The project required 81 sheets of OSB decking due to spaced decking with gaps larger than 1/4 inch and existing plywood conditions that required correction before completing the new roofing system.

The exterior restoration also included full black gutters and downspouts. Additional approved work included two window wraps, with white trim selected to coordinate with the existing windows.

A significant additional component was the metal front porch restoration. The work included replacing the metal porch panels, upgrading the existing porch posts to 6x6 posts, and adding approximately 37 linear feet of custom-bent black metal wrap around the porch frame.

This Greenwood project stands out for its combination of a full roofing system, extensive OSB re-decking, full black gutters and downspouts, window wraps, and custom metal porch restoration, resulting in a comprehensive exterior insurance restoration.

These guys are excellent. Extremely professional, reliable, and . communicative. Lavell was my project manager and he was awesome. I had to get him out for quotes several times for a project on a house I was buying (sellers were trying to hide problems and fake fixes but weren't smart enough to get away with it) and Lavell happily kept coming back out and getting me the info I needed each time. When it came time to complete the job, the crew did fantastic work - very thorough and looks great. Th... Read more

IndyRoof & Restoration did a great job from beginning to completion. The field inspector, Mark Sopke, was my initial and ongoing contact through the entire project. Can’t think of anything else he could have done to make the process easier. Highly recommend both Mark and IndyRoof. I even called my insurance agent and told them how good they were.

We hired Indy Roof & Restoration (IR&R) to replace our roof and gutters this summer, and we are very happy with the result! We had taken some storm damage (hail and wind) last winter, and IR&R was able to work with our homeowner's insurance to get the majority of the replacement paid for! We are also very happy that IR&R is a certified installer of Malarkey shingles. Funny name, I know, but these might actually be the best shingles money can buy. We went with Malarkey Legacy shingles, as we want... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

We have been creating five-star experiences since 2018 and have built a team that takes the stress out of roofing and home restoration. With over 1,500 five-star Google reviews and a consistent A+ BBB rating, our reputation speaks for itself, but what we are most proud of is how we treat people when things go wrong. We are available 24/7, we offer financing for eligible clients, and we assist homeowners through the insurance claims process from start to finish. One of our customers had a roof replacement approved through insurance after other contractors said it could not be done, and that is exactly the kind of advocacy we bring to every job.

Yes, navigating a storm damage claim is one of the things we do best. When hail, wind, or rain damages your roof, we conduct a thorough inspection with photo documentation so you have a clear record of everything that was affected. We assist you through the entire claims process, working directly with your insurance company to make sure all damage is properly reported and covered. Homeowners across Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and the surrounding Indiana communities have relied on us to get approvals that other contractors could not secure.

Yes, and this is one of the things that genuinely sets us apart. Beyond residential roofing, commercial roofing, and gutter installation and repair, we also offer vinyl siding installation, James Hardie siding installation, window replacement, skylight installation, attic insulation, interior and exterior painting, and water and fire restoration services. We even provide mold removal for homes affected by water damage. Whether your home needs one service or a full restoration after a major event, we handle it all under one roof so you are never managing multiple contractors or wondering who is responsible for what.

It starts with a free inspection. We come out, assess the condition of your roof, take photos, and give you an honest recommendation on whether repair or full replacement makes more sense for your situation. If insurance is involved, we help you through that process as well. Once you decide to move forward, we work with you on scheduling, material selection, and financing if needed, and we keep you informed at every stage. Our goal is to make a stressful situation feel manageable, not more complicated.

Yes, community involvement is a core part of who we are, not just a line on a website. We proudly support Fountains of Hope, which works to provide clean drinking water in third-world nations, and Habitat for Humanity, where we provide free roofing for homes being built or renovated for families in need. For us, being a good roofing company means being a good neighbor, and the work we do in the Indianapolis community and beyond is a reflection of the values we bring to every project we take on.
