Mixed Shingle and Modified-Bitumen Roofing with a Skylight in Indianapolis

Project Description

A house roof on Chateaugay Drive in Indianapolis required both laminated shingles and a separate low-slope membrane system. Indy Roof & Restoration replaced the house roof. Insurance discussions had progressed through appraisal and an umpire before production. The homeowners used personal funds alongside insurance funds.

The sloped roof received IKO Cambridge AR shingles labeled Weatherwood, with matching IKO hip-and-ridge caps. The shingles were accompanied by IKO Leading Edge Plus starter, Tarco LeakBarrier MS300 ice-and-water protection and ABC Pro Guard 20 synthetic underlayment. Quarrix Flex Roll ridge ventilation, pipe flashing and black perimeter metals were included in the assembly. The completed order specified 162 feet of hip and ridge, 19 feet of step flashing and 21 feet of wall flashing.

The low-slope portion used a self-adhered modified-bitumen base-and-cap assembly. Malarkey OmniSeal 420 base/ply membrane and OmniSeal 430 cap sheet were supplied for the two-square installation scope, with Weathered Wood specified for the cap. That section also required angle flashing and asphalt primer. A VELUX skylight installation and reflashing formed another part of the roof work, with the crew checking the opening size before installation.

Field measurements also shaped the chimney work during construction. The crew identified a stone chimney and requested a cricket change order plus lead counterflashing that could follow the irregular stone surface. A chimney-cricket line was included in the approved project estimate. The roof order also included 12 feet of trim replacement, installation and painting, using TruExterior trim among the materials.

Construction was coordinated for July 8–9, 2025, and both roof labor and project management recorded July 9 completion. At material pickup, the project manager reported that approximately four OSB sheets had been used and requested a decking change order. A later site visit concluded with a signed completion certificate on August 4. The shingle roof, low-slope membrane and skylight were therefore handled within one house-roof project.

Dual Brown Cambridge Garage Roof and Partial Gutters on West 35th Street

Project Description

A fallen tree led to replacement of the detached-garage roof at a residential property on West 35th Street in Indianapolis. Indy Roof & Restoration inspected the garage and developed a construction scope limited to that roof, alongside gutter work on the house and garage. The project combined an insurance claim with customer-paid gutter upgrades.

The garage received IKO Cambridge AR shingles in Dual Brown and matching IKO Hip and Ridge 12 AR caps. IKO Leading Edge Plus starter, Tarco LeakBarrier MS300 ice-and-water protection and ABC Pro Guard 20 synthetic underlayment accompanied the shingles. Royal Brown drip edge and gutter apron were specified for the perimeter, and the roof order included 26 feet of hip and ridge. Extra synthetic underlayment was prepared for the low-slope garage roof, with instructions to follow the manufacturer's low-slope installation requirements.

Decking work was addressed during construction through a change order and photographic documentation. The reviewed documentation supported three OSB sheets for the post-production insurance submission. That submission also included garage gutter boards and drip edge. The adjuster's updated scope approved those items, increasing the claim scope.

The gutter crew replaced existing five-inch gutters on both the house and detached garage with six-inch Royal Brown gutters. The completed scope totaled 158 feet, consisting of 137 feet at the first story and 21 feet at the second story. Dark Bronze Gutter RX guards were specified for 150 feet across the two buildings. The existing three-by-four-inch downspouts were retained under this contract.

The garage-roof order recorded completion on July 21, 2025, followed by the gutter order on July 22. Indy Roof & Restoration sent completion documentation to Allstate and continued the depreciation request after the supplement was approved. The insurance-funded work was submitted to the carrier separately from the retail scope. The adjuster later confirmed the payment had been processed.

These guys are excellent. Extremely professional, reliable, and . communicative. Lavell was my project manager and he was awesome. I had to get him out for quotes several times for a project on a house I was buying (sellers were trying to hide problems and fake fixes but weren't smart enough to get away with it) and Lavell happily kept coming back out and getting me the info I needed each time. When it came time to complete the job, the crew did fantastic work - very thorough and looks great. Th... Read more

IndyRoof & Restoration did a great job from beginning to completion. The field inspector, Mark Sopke, was my initial and ongoing contact through the entire project. Can’t think of anything else he could have done to make the process easier. Highly recommend both Mark and IndyRoof. I even called my insurance agent and told them how good they were.

We hired Indy Roof & Restoration (IR&R) to replace our roof and gutters this summer, and we are very happy with the result! We had taken some storm damage (hail and wind) last winter, and IR&R was able to work with our homeowner's insurance to get the majority of the replacement paid for! We are also very happy that IR&R is a certified installer of Malarkey shingles. Funny name, I know, but these might actually be the best shingles money can buy. We went with Malarkey Legacy shingles, as we want... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

We have been creating five-star experiences since 2018 and have built a team that takes the stress out of roofing and home restoration. With over 1,500 five-star Google reviews and a consistent A+ BBB rating, our reputation speaks for itself, but what we are most proud of is how we treat people when things go wrong. We are available 24/7, we offer financing for eligible clients, and we assist homeowners through the insurance claims process from start to finish. One of our customers had a roof replacement approved through insurance after other contractors said it could not be done, and that is exactly the kind of advocacy we bring to every job.

Yes, navigating a storm damage claim is one of the things we do best. When hail, wind, or rain damages your roof, we conduct a thorough inspection with photo documentation so you have a clear record of everything that was affected. We assist you through the entire claims process, working directly with your insurance company to make sure all damage is properly reported and covered. Homeowners across Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and the surrounding Indiana communities have relied on us to get approvals that other contractors could not secure.

Yes, and this is one of the things that genuinely sets us apart. Beyond residential roofing, commercial roofing, and gutter installation and repair, we also offer vinyl siding installation, James Hardie siding installation, window replacement, skylight installation, attic insulation, interior and exterior painting, and water and fire restoration services. We even provide mold removal for homes affected by water damage. Whether your home needs one service or a full restoration after a major event, we handle it all under one roof so you are never managing multiple contractors or wondering who is responsible for what.

It starts with a free inspection. We come out, assess the condition of your roof, take photos, and give you an honest recommendation on whether repair or full replacement makes more sense for your situation. If insurance is involved, we help you through that process as well. Once you decide to move forward, we work with you on scheduling, material selection, and financing if needed, and we keep you informed at every stage. Our goal is to make a stressful situation feel manageable, not more complicated.

Yes, community involvement is a core part of who we are, not just a line on a website. We proudly support Fountains of Hope, which works to provide clean drinking water in third-world nations, and Habitat for Humanity, where we provide free roofing for homes being built or renovated for families in need. For us, being a good roofing company means being a good neighbor, and the work we do in the Indianapolis community and beyond is a reflection of the values we bring to every project we take on.
