Water Damage Repair and Partial Roof Replacement in Westfield

Project Description

Wind tore away a roof section of this three-story Westfield home, leaving an approximately four-by-eight-foot opening and water damage in the bedroom, closet and ceiling nook. Indy Roof & Restoration completed interior restoration that included R-13 wall insulation, R-19 ceiling insulation, 54 square feet of wall drywall and 24 square feet of textured ceiling drywall. Painting, window-sill finishing and 14 linear feet of baseboard accompanied replacement carpet and pad in the bedroom and closet. The interior crew began in August and completed its order August 8, 2025.

Emergency tarping protected the opening while the partial roof replacement was organized. IKO Cambridge AR shingles in the supplier’s Weatherwood color were installed with IKO starter and hip-and-ridge components, Tarco LeakBarrier MS300 ice-and-water protection and ABC Pro Guard 20 synthetic underlayment. White drip edge and gutter apron finished the perimeter. Construction included 20 linear feet of hip and ridge, plugging the existing box-vent opening and cutting a new opening for a Broan exhaust vent. This partial reroof addressed the storm-opened roof section above the affected interior.

Before the new roof section was installed, the homeowner arranged a separate plumbing visit for the pipe at the roof penetration and confirmed in July that it had been fixed. A supplier boom truck loaded roofing materials to serve the building’s height, and the exterior installation took place in late July. These arrangements coordinated the roof work with the property’s access and penetration details.

The insurance claim encompassed the exterior damage and interior repairs. After the restoration trades were complete, the team submitted their work to the adjuster. The carrier confirmed issuance of the final recoverable depreciation payment in September.

Natural Wood Highlander House Roofing After Appraisal on Moss Lane

Project Description

The Moss Lane house in Indianapolis went through a State Farm claim appraisal after review of the roof and other property damage. An existing-shingle sample was collected for a matching report, and the broader claim included interior, gutter and other exterior work. The appraisal award was finalized. The homeowners proceeded with the house roof and its associated trim work.

Natural Wood Malarkey Highlander NEX AR shingles were selected with matching RidgeFlex 12-inch caps. Arctic Seal, Smart Start and RhinoRoof UDL supplied the supporting layers, with Owens Corning VentSure Rigid Roll and Lomanco roof vents providing the selected ventilation components. Black drip edge, gutter apron, step flashing and trim coil accompanied plumbing and Broan exhaust flashings. The roofing palette combined Natural Wood shingles with Black accessories.

The house required steep-slope work at 8/12 to 9/12 pitches and two-story access across much of the crew scope. Installation included 101 linear feet of hip-and-ridge work, 68 linear feet of step flashing and 70 linear feet of wall flashing. Primed LP SmartSide trim boards were included, with 138 linear feet of trim installation and painting in the crew’s work. Roof labor was completed in August 2025 without a production change order.

These guys are excellent. Extremely professional, reliable, and . communicative. Lavell was my project manager and he was awesome. I had to get him out for quotes several times for a project on a house I was buying (sellers were trying to hide problems and fake fixes but weren't smart enough to get away with it) and Lavell happily kept coming back out and getting me the info I needed each time. When it came time to complete the job, the crew did fantastic work - very thorough and looks great. Th... Read more

IndyRoof & Restoration did a great job from beginning to completion. The field inspector, Mark Sopke, was my initial and ongoing contact through the entire project. Can’t think of anything else he could have done to make the process easier. Highly recommend both Mark and IndyRoof. I even called my insurance agent and told them how good they were.

We hired Indy Roof & Restoration (IR&R) to replace our roof and gutters this summer, and we are very happy with the result! We had taken some storm damage (hail and wind) last winter, and IR&R was able to work with our homeowner's insurance to get the majority of the replacement paid for! We are also very happy that IR&R is a certified installer of Malarkey shingles. Funny name, I know, but these might actually be the best shingles money can buy. We went with Malarkey Legacy shingles, as we want... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

We have been creating five-star experiences since 2018 and have built a team that takes the stress out of roofing and home restoration. With over 1,500 five-star Google reviews and a consistent A+ BBB rating, our reputation speaks for itself, but what we are most proud of is how we treat people when things go wrong. We are available 24/7, we offer financing for eligible clients, and we assist homeowners through the insurance claims process from start to finish. One of our customers had a roof replacement approved through insurance after other contractors said it could not be done, and that is exactly the kind of advocacy we bring to every job.

Yes, navigating a storm damage claim is one of the things we do best. When hail, wind, or rain damages your roof, we conduct a thorough inspection with photo documentation so you have a clear record of everything that was affected. We assist you through the entire claims process, working directly with your insurance company to make sure all damage is properly reported and covered. Homeowners across Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and the surrounding Indiana communities have relied on us to get approvals that other contractors could not secure.

Yes, and this is one of the things that genuinely sets us apart. Beyond residential roofing, commercial roofing, and gutter installation and repair, we also offer vinyl siding installation, James Hardie siding installation, window replacement, skylight installation, attic insulation, interior and exterior painting, and water and fire restoration services. We even provide mold removal for homes affected by water damage. Whether your home needs one service or a full restoration after a major event, we handle it all under one roof so you are never managing multiple contractors or wondering who is responsible for what.

It starts with a free inspection. We come out, assess the condition of your roof, take photos, and give you an honest recommendation on whether repair or full replacement makes more sense for your situation. If insurance is involved, we help you through that process as well. Once you decide to move forward, we work with you on scheduling, material selection, and financing if needed, and we keep you informed at every stage. Our goal is to make a stressful situation feel manageable, not more complicated.

Yes, community involvement is a core part of who we are, not just a line on a website. We proudly support Fountains of Hope, which works to provide clean drinking water in third-world nations, and Habitat for Humanity, where we provide free roofing for homes being built or renovated for families in need. For us, being a good roofing company means being a good neighbor, and the work we do in the Indianapolis community and beyond is a reflection of the values we bring to every project we take on.
