Sienna Blend Roof and Solar-Shade Skylight Replacement in Indianapolis


Project Description


Water spots on the ceiling prompted an Indianapolis homeowner to request a roof inspection in April 2025. Indy Roof & Restoration worked through the insurance review and organized a house roof replacement that included the existing skylight. Before production, the team gathered the skylight measurements and photographs needed to specify the replacement and submit its cost to the carrier.


The steep roof was replaced with Malarkey Highlander NEX AR shingles in Sienna Blend, paired with matching RidgeFlex hip-and-ridge shingles. The installation included removal of an additional shingle layer, 201 linear feet of hip and ridge, 36 linear feet of step flashing and 14 linear feet of wall flashing. Malarkey Arctic Seal ice-and-water protection, RhinoRoof UDL synthetic underlayment and Smart Start starter shingles supported the new covering. Nine brown static vents, brown flashing and black perimeter metals accompanied the selected shingle color.


A VELUX FS S06 deck-mounted fixed skylight with a solar-powered shade was installed and reflashed during the roofing phase. Its EDL step-flashing kit formed part of the roof-to-skylight connection, and the crew was instructed to verify the exposed opening against the replacement unit before opening the box. The roof-and-skylight order was completed on August 8, 2025.


The supplement team included the approved skylight in the revised claim scope. The carrier also approved step flashing, ice-and-water protection and an interior bid during this review. After the completed roofing work was submitted for claim closeout, the adjuster confirmed in September that recoverable depreciation had been released to the insured.

House and Shed Roofing with Skylight Flashing in Indianapolis


Project Description


A skylight, brick chimney and detached shed created separate work areas in this Indianapolis, Indiana, project. Our crew replaced the house and shed roofs in 2025. The work also included attention to gutter components along the house eaves. RhinoRoof U20 underlayment covered prepared house roof sections beneath the dimensional shingles. At the skylight, metal flashing bordered the opening and joined the surrounding roofing. Stepped flashing followed the roof line against the brick chimney. The shingle courses fitted alongside these features as the house roof was finished. The detached shed received dimensional shingles across its smaller gable roof. Both structures had their completed roofing by August. The project combined the house's more detailed roof intersections with reroofing on the separate shed.
