Natural Wood Vista Roof and Full Gutter Replacement on Lammermoor Lane


Project Description


A shingle roof more than 20 years old prompted the homeowner to request an inspection of this two-story house on Lammermoor Lane in Indianapolis, Indiana. The owner selected a customer-paid replacement of the roof and the complete gutter and downspout system. Indy Roof & Restoration installed Malarkey Vista AR shingles in Natural Wood, with matching RidgeFlex hip-and-ridge shingles.


The house had both steep roof sections with eight-to-nine-in-twelve pitches and roofing above the second story. Following tear-off, the new assembly included Malarkey Arctic Seal ice-and-water shield, ABC Pro Guard 20 synthetic underlayment and Smart Start starter shingles. Quarrix Flex Roll ridge ventilation accompanied 94 feet of hip-and-ridge work.


Flashing was a substantial part of the roof installation, with 46 feet of step flashing and 27 feet of wall flashing at the roof transitions. The chimney received new flashing, and two Lifetime Ultimate pipe flashings addressed the plumbing penetrations. Black drip edge, gutter apron and flashing coordinated the roof perimeter with the Natural Wood shingles.


The gutter crew followed the roofing phase with Wicker-colored six-inch gutters at both stories. The replacement included 35 feet at the first story and 91 feet at the second story, for 126 feet in total. Six three-by-four-inch downspouts completed the drainage scope, with three serving each story.

Duplex Roof Replacement with Coordinated Shingle Color in Indianapolis, Indiana


Project Description


Replacing one side of a duplex meant considering the roof next door. For this Indianapolis, Indiana, project, the shingle color was selected to match the adjoining half of the building. Indy Roof & Restoration replaced the roofing on the contracted side and completed partial gutter work there, keeping the scope specific to that portion of the property. The new architectural shingles followed the connected roof planes above the brick exterior. Beneath them, ABC ProGuard 20 and RhinoRoof U20 underlayments covered the prepared surfaces, including the junction between adjoining slopes. Underlayment forms a separate layer between the shingles and the roof deck. The finished shingle courses continued around the existing pipe penetrations, with cap shingles along the upper roofline. The gutter work included a corner connection and a downspout that turned beneath the overhang before running down beside the brick wall. That offset connected the projecting gutter to the downspout's position against the building. By October 2025, the roof replacement and partial gutter scope were complete, with the new roofing carrying out the planned color coordination with the neighboring half.
