Roof Replacement and Stone Chimney Flashing in Indianapolis, Indiana


Project Description


A stone chimney interrupted the long roof slopes on this Indianapolis, Indiana, home. The roof replacement included new metal flashing around the chimney base as well as architectural shingles across the adjoining planes. Work progressed during October and November 2025. Removing the old covering exposed plank decking beneath the roof. Our crew installed ABC Pro Guard 20 underlayment before the finished shingles enclosed the prepared surfaces. At the chimney, a broad metal apron crossed the downhill face, with upright flashing and shaped returns at the corners. Sealant finished the upper edge where the metal met the masonry. By November, the completed shingle roof extended along the capped ridge and around the box vents and pipe boots. The new courses joined the chimney flashing at the base of the stonework. The finished replacement connected that masonry junction to the broader roof covering.
