Onyx Black Roofing and Trim with Buyer Color Coordination in Indianapolis

Project Description

An Indianapolis roof replacement was coordinated during a pending home sale. The homeowner’s family contact handled the installation agreement, while the buyer selected Onyx Black shingles and Black finishes for new trim.

The house received Owens Corning Oakridge shingles with matching ProEdge ridge caps. Starter Strip Plus, Tarco LeakBarrier MS300 ice-and-water protection and ABC PRO-Guard 20 synthetic underlayment supported the replacement. The roof work covered 37 squares, 110 linear feet of hip and ridge and removal of an additional shingle layer over 33 squares. Steep-slope work and second-story access accompanied the installation.

Flashing connections required two trim treatments: existing trim was detached and reset at wall-flashing areas, while step-flashing areas received cut-in trim finished Black. Chimney, wall and step flashing completed the roof detailing.

The customer-paid roofing and trim work was completed in August 2026.

Hawks Lane Antique Brown Reroof with Planned Redeck and Gutter RX Guards

Project Description

The Hawks Lane homeowner sought replacement of an aging roof. The existing plank deck was part of the project, so Indy Roof & Restoration planned the reroof with a new OSB substrate. Although the initial inquiry mentioned Vista shingles and a possible need for financing, the signed retail project proceeded with an Antique Brown Malarkey Highlander package. The contract included the roof and a separate house-only gutter-guard phase.

The selected Highlander 242 shingles were paired with Antique Brown RidgeFlex caps, Smart Start starter, Malarkey 401 self-adhered underlayment and ABC PRO-Guard 20 synthetic underlayment. Royal Brown drip edge, gutter apron and step-flashing materials matched the brown accessory selection. The completed roof order specified 25 squares of laminated shingles, 163 linear feet of hip/ridge and 76 sheets of 7/16-inch OSB decking, with chimney, wall and step flashing.

Special-order Brown Lomanco 135 roof louvers were part of the material order. Indy Roof & Restoration confirmed their arrival before arranging the roof work, while the homeowner planned driveway paving to follow construction. The roof crew was scheduled for August 5, 2026, with a separate gutter-guard crew assigned afterward. The house-only guard phase covered 210 linear feet of Dark Bronze Gutter RX over the existing gutters.

Surplus roofing materials were returned to the supplier.

These guys are excellent. Extremely professional, reliable, and . communicative. Lavell was my project manager and he was awesome. I had to get him out for quotes several times for a project on a house I was buying (sellers were trying to hide problems and fake fixes but weren't smart enough to get away with it) and Lavell happily kept coming back out and getting me the info I needed each time. When it came time to complete the job, the crew did fantastic work - very thorough and looks great. Th... Read more

IndyRoof & Restoration did a great job from beginning to completion. The field inspector, Mark Sopke, was my initial and ongoing contact through the entire project. Can’t think of anything else he could have done to make the process easier. Highly recommend both Mark and IndyRoof. I even called my insurance agent and told them how good they were.

We hired Indy Roof & Restoration (IR&R) to replace our roof and gutters this summer, and we are very happy with the result! We had taken some storm damage (hail and wind) last winter, and IR&R was able to work with our homeowner's insurance to get the majority of the replacement paid for! We are also very happy that IR&R is a certified installer of Malarkey shingles. Funny name, I know, but these might actually be the best shingles money can buy. We went with Malarkey Legacy shingles, as we want... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

We have been creating five-star experiences since 2018 and have built a team that takes the stress out of roofing and home restoration. With over 1,500 five-star Google reviews and a consistent A+ BBB rating, our reputation speaks for itself, but what we are most proud of is how we treat people when things go wrong. We are available 24/7, we offer financing for eligible clients, and we assist homeowners through the insurance claims process from start to finish. One of our customers had a roof replacement approved through insurance after other contractors said it could not be done, and that is exactly the kind of advocacy we bring to every job.

Yes, navigating a storm damage claim is one of the things we do best. When hail, wind, or rain damages your roof, we conduct a thorough inspection with photo documentation so you have a clear record of everything that was affected. We assist you through the entire claims process, working directly with your insurance company to make sure all damage is properly reported and covered. Homeowners across Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, and the surrounding Indiana communities have relied on us to get approvals that other contractors could not secure.

Yes, and this is one of the things that genuinely sets us apart. Beyond residential roofing, commercial roofing, and gutter installation and repair, we also offer vinyl siding installation, James Hardie siding installation, window replacement, skylight installation, attic insulation, interior and exterior painting, and water and fire restoration services. We even provide mold removal for homes affected by water damage. Whether your home needs one service or a full restoration after a major event, we handle it all under one roof so you are never managing multiple contractors or wondering who is responsible for what.

It starts with a free inspection. We come out, assess the condition of your roof, take photos, and give you an honest recommendation on whether repair or full replacement makes more sense for your situation. If insurance is involved, we help you through that process as well. Once you decide to move forward, we work with you on scheduling, material selection, and financing if needed, and we keep you informed at every stage. Our goal is to make a stressful situation feel manageable, not more complicated.

Yes, community involvement is a core part of who we are, not just a line on a website. We proudly support Fountains of Hope, which works to provide clean drinking water in third-world nations, and Habitat for Humanity, where we provide free roofing for homes being built or renovated for families in need. For us, being a good roofing company means being a good neighbor, and the work we do in the Indianapolis community and beyond is a reflection of the values we bring to every project we take on.
