We recently worked with a homeowner in the Charmeldee Acres neighborhood out in Black Mountain on a comprehensive roofing project. The rancher-style home, built in 1975, had no active leaks but needed a roof replacement after 25 years. The homeowner, who measured the roof himself, noted it spans 3,420 sq ft with a 5/12 pitch. He also mentioned the roof does not have a raised ridge and was curious if that was typical.
The homeowner requested three separate estimates: one for the main house, one for the detached garage, and one for the shed. For the main house and the shed, he selected CertainTeed Landmark's Cobblestone Gray shingle color to maintain a cohesive look. For the detached garage, he opted for a durable 29 gauge Tuff Rib metal roof.
