Project Description – Porch Roof Construction Over Existing Deck
Miller’s Roofing Inc. completed a custom porch roof build over an existing back deck, creating a functional and attractive outdoor living space. This project involved constructing a low-sloped, lean-to style roof designed to integrate seamlessly with the home’s existing structure.
Our team installed sturdy 2"x10" headers to provide strong structural support. 2"x8" roof rafters were added to form the main framework of the roof, along with 2"x4" ceiling supports to ensure stability and integrity. For the roof decking and small sidewalls, we used ½” OSB sheathing to create a solid base for the final roofing system.
To complete the roof, we installed GAF Timberline HDZ architectural shingles in a 50-year system, providing exceptional durability, weather resistance, and curb appeal. Special attention was given to properly flashing the new roof into the existing house roofline, ensuring a watertight connection and long-term performance.
This project reflects Miller’s Roofing’s craftsmanship and attention to detail, offering the homeowner a beautiful, covered outdoor area built to last.
