About

Pinnacle Roofing replaced this wind-damaged roof in the Edgewood section of Cranston, RI. The previous asphalt shingles were in good condition but nailed to a spaced roof deck, which was designed for cedar shake shingles. Wood roofing needs to breathe so it doesn't rot. Conversely, modern roofs with asphalt shingles require a solidly sheathed deck. After stripping the old shingles off, Pinnacle Roofing installed new 1/2" CDX plywood to meet the building code.

We installed the CertainTeed Integrity Roof System with Landmark in the Pewterwood gray color. Landmark architectural shingles that have complex granule color blends and subtle shadow lines produce a distinctive color selection and carry a limited lifetime warranty. Landmark series shingles are composed of a fiberglass mat base and then ceramic-coated mineral granules are tightly embedded in carefully refined, water-resistant asphalt. Two pieces of the shingle are firmly laminated together in a special, tough asphaltic cement.
