Bob Bellitt founded Arapahoe Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. in 1967 when roofing was altogether an entirely different business than it is today. While the business has always been hot, dirty, cold, heavy and dangerous, sweeping improvements have been made in the last two decades. And for that the industry owes thanks to Arapahoe Roofing because Bellitt and his partner Terry LaVelle were founding members of the Colorado Roofing Association, Intent on delivering solutions to the unmet needs for improved education and regulation.

This membership of contractors, manufacturers and distributors serves to better educate the industry from the inside out, reaching customers too with valuable information on good roofing practices. "Better quality work nets better results for everyone," says Bellitt, pointing out that the licensing and insurance requirements in place today were initiatives of the Colorado Roofing Association.
