The cedar siding on my house had become warped and cracked, despite having been regularly stained every 6-8 years. I decided to replace it with a siding material that could withstand the weather without warping/expanding/contracting, so I chose Hardieboard. Got estimates from four separate contractors that I found on the Hardie website. SWG’s bid wasn't the highest nor the lowest.
