When the sales rep came to the project we pointed out some issues. We were told that they would be corrected with the new roof. One issue was corrected but the other was not. The job was taking longer than they had anticipated and we feel that they cut corners on the last roof. When we went to their business with the pictures showing the same puddling we were told that the warranty is for 15 years and there shouldn't be any leaks. Charging $175 for an estimate "for real estate purposes" is insane! I've owned/operated a remodeling business in the capital district for over 10 years and have never heard of such nonsense. Additionally as a Realtor, I will bear this in mind when referring clients to other contractors.

My next door neighbor had a roof put on recently and despite some cursory effort by the company with their magic "nail rake" I pulled over FIFTY nails from my gravel driveway. So many in fact that I start to wonder if it wasn't intentional. At any rate it's a time consuming process and I ended up doing their job. Jeez guys, just put down a tarp or something.

Star roofing recently did a job on my neighbors house. At 7am on a Saturday I woke up to men yelling profanities. Most people in the neighborhood have small children and they do not need to hear grown men yelling "s**k my d***" F this F that. Calling eachother the N word. Every sentence I heard them say contained the F Word. I understand that construction jobs are loud and I'm not saying they can't talk to eachother but watch your language. Excellent service and great to work with. We have a slate roof and it's been difficult to find experienced companies to do minor repairs, but they have been great.
