The folks at Storm Guard are simply top notch. They installed our new roof in 2019 and when it came time to sell the home, there were some minor repairs that needed to be performed. (no leak issues) They promptly came out after the inspection and put together their report and then fixed the identified items. It was all done quickly and professionally and we sailed through closing. It's one thing to get a great new roof installation, but another for the company to stand behind it and just handle ... The insurance kept throwing roadblock at my claim, but Chris and his team were very diligent with my insurance company to get my roof claim approved and his team paid. They gave us great options and got us on the schedule quickly and only took a day for install. The team did an awesome job with cleaning up. Couldn’t even tell they were there. Thanks for everything and sticking with me.

I cannot say enough good things about Storm Guard Roofing! From start to finish they have been exceptional. Their sales staff are very professional. At first my insurance company only wanted to pay for repairs to my existing roof. However my shingles were no longer available. Storm Guard brought several samples and took photos and videos to show that nothing matched. They knew exactly what the insurance company needed to see and within a month a complete roof job was approved. When the installer... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

The lifespan of a roof depends heavily on the materials used, the quality of the installation, and the climate. In a place like Tennessee, where humidity and storms are factors, these timelines can vary. Common Roofing Materials Asphalt Shingles (3-Tab): These are the most common and typically last 12–20 years. Architectural Shingles: These are thicker and more durable than 3-tab shingles, often lasting 20–30 years. Metal Roofing: A very durable choice that can last 40–70 years, depending on the specific type of metal and coating. Slate or Tile: These are "lifetime" roofs that can last 50–100+ years, though they require a very sturdy structural support system due to their weight.

Identifying roof damage early can save you from costly interior repairs and structural issues. Whether you’ve recently had a storm or are just doing a seasonal check, here are the key signs of damage to look for: Exterior Visual Cues -You can spot many of these from the ground using a pair of binoculars, which is much safer than climbing onto the roof yourself. -Missing or Cracked Shingles: High winds can tear shingles away entirely, while age and sun exposure can cause them to crack or break. -Curling or Buckling: If the edges of your shingles are turning upward (cupping) or the middle is bulging, they are no longer providing a proper seal against water. -Granule Loss: Check your gutters for what looks like coarse black sand. These granules protect shingles from UV rays; once they wear off, the shingle degrades quickly. -Damaged Flashing: Look at the metal strips around chimneys, vents, and skylights. If the flashing is rusted, bent, or pulling away, water can easily seep into the gaps. -Sagging Areas: A drooping roofline is a serious sign of potential structural damage or long-term water saturation in the decking. Interior Warning Signs -Sometimes the first signs of a roof problem appear inside your home. -Water Stains: Yellow, brown, or grey bubbles and streaks on your ceilings or walls. -Attic Light: If you go into your attic during the day and see "pinpricks" of daylight coming through the roof boards, water is definitely getting in. -Molding or Mildew: A persistent musty smell or visible mold in the attic often indicates poor ventilation or a slow leak. -Peeling Paint: Excessive moisture building up near the roofline can cause exterior or interior paint to blister or peel.

Quality gutter guards can protect your home for 10–20 years or even longer with the right installation and minimal maintenance. The lifespan depends on the materials used, local weather, and how well they're cared for. At Storm Guard, we install gutter guards made from durable, weather-resistant materials designed to handle heavy rain, snow, and seasonal debris. It ensures they last for decades and keep your gutters performing their best with less cleaning and fewer repairs.

The lifespan of siding depends on the material and maintenance: Vinyl Siding: Lasts 20–40 years; affordable, versatile, and low-maintenance. Aluminum Siding: Lasts 30–50 years; durable and resistant to pests and rot. Fiber Cement Siding: Can last 50+ years; extremely strong and weather-resistant. Engineered Wood Siding: Also lasts 50+ years; combines durability with a natural look. With Storm Guard, you get high-quality materials and professional installation to help your siding reach its maximum lifespan and keep your property looking its best for decades.
