I wish I could say we've had a lot of experience with our new Sunesta, but ever since it was installed we've had very few sunny days without LOTS of winds. However, the few we have had we've really enjoyed under our new awning. We have a total southern exposure and have never been able to use our deck at midday. Not so anymore. We LOVE our Sunesta awning! Our deck was unusable in the hot sun-soaked summer and of course when it rained. It reduces the temp on our west facing deck by 10 degrees or more during hot days. That translates to a cooler kitchen as well. The wind sensor is a must-have accessory. The only issue we have, when we are not on the deck, is us remembering to retract the awning when it rains. It was pricey, but it was well worth it for us.
