When the awning is fully extended and the sun is directly overhead the awning is "hot underneath" and projects heat and is not pleasant and not worth all the money we spent.

Every time that we put the awning out, we love it. It works well and looks great. We've received many compliments on it.
We did notice when we used it the first time this year that there are 3-4 small rips in the valance of the awning. We think it is from our metal roof, but not sure. Is there anything that we can do to the edge of the roof to prevent further ripping or cutting?
