The retractable awning is very nice, but it really doesn't cover the area as well as I hoped. I have a south facing back yard, so it does help to keep my sunroom cooler, and I can enjoy shade in the morning through to about 2:30/3pm. I do retract it when the wind is high. It just makes me nervous to see it bounce about. This is the first season I will be using it regularly. It was pricey but well made.
