It seemed like a simple enough plan replace the linoleum in the kitchen with wood to match the rest of the house...until I learned that the wood is Tasmanian oak. (A 1957 Greenbrae house - hollow core doors but Tasmanian oak floors? Really?) Met with three floor companies that couldn't do it because they told me the wood was unavailable unless I went to Tasmania and cut down a tree myself. (A bit of an exaggeration but directionally accurate.) I'd basically given up but gave it one last shot...Read more
