I have a large and difficult roof. It has a number of gables, a stone fireplace and a few large flat surfaces (above a sun porch and screen patio) requiring differing roofing materials and application methods. I had a number of estimates (from those that would attempt the job). Tar Heel provided the best estimate and also seemed to be the most qualified to handle the job. I was worried about the roof being completed without overnight delays since it was so large, but they showed up with a large workforce and knocked the job out in a day in a manner that true professionals should. Excellent company !!

Project: Install or Replace an Asphalt Shingle Roof Comments: After shopping around for roofing contractors, Joe came by, went up on the roof, and within 1 minute of looking, he told me in a no nonsense way that I needed a new roof for my 28 year old house. And he gave a quote for the price. He then gave me a very detailed account of what the roof replacement process entails, showed it with pictures, told me how long the work will take, and what I need to do, etc. Once the date was picked, all of the arrangements went like clockwork. The delivery of the shingles, water/ice barrier, edging, slylights, and kits came on time in the morning before 9am, at 10am, the dumpster arrived, and when everything was ready, thes crew showed up around 10:30am. They may have been a bit late, but these guys worked without stopping until the all of the work was done in the early evening. Then, as part of the contract, Joe scheduled and came to finish the interior work, trimming out the skylights. This was an added benefit, as I did not have to worry about arranging or scheduling that work separately. All in all, Joe and his crew did a super bang up job. I would not have guessed that from when Joe first told me the 'bad' news, but overall a very good experience. I would recommend him to anyone. Another gimmick Joe and Tar Heel does is that he documents the work by launching a aerial drone above the house during the work to document what is being done.

Tar Heel just finished the new siding on our house and have to say it's was so smooth to work with this group. Brian is an awesome salesman. He knows his business very well. I was very impressed with how he left samples, talked about every aspect of the job and was there when ever I had question. The crew that did the job was very delightful to have around. They kept the work site nice and clean. They were quick and fast and did quality work. I will recommend Tar Heel to anyone that asks. I will be using them in the future.

Our roof suffered wind damage and was fully replaced by Tarheel and paid for by insurance. Joe and Brian were extremely helpful in explaining a roof in simple terms to someone with zero knowledge in the subject. No question was stupid and they were always quick to return my calls. They provided addresses around town where I could go look at their work to help decide on a color. Jaime the project manager was extremely professional and led his crew well. In the morning he told me that they found one of my gutters was damaged as it was holding piles of shingle debris and it would most likely need to be replaced and reset. By the time I returned in the afternoon, he had gone to Home Depot to buy repair parts and he told me they were going to remove the gutter, repair it and properly reattach it at no charge. The fact that he went out of his way to help me was so impressive. Truly an honest company from top to bottom who I will most definitely be using in the future and recommending to friends. Thank you Tarheel for my beautiful roof!
