Terry Cooch established TLC Home, LLC in 2008, spending hundreds of hours assisting people in making their homes comfortable and functional. In 2012, Terry earned ASP certification as a stager. TLC Home now solely provides staging services, however, Terry's prior work as a professional organizer has given her the insight to provide practical ideas in her staging consultations, lessening the stress and enabling homeowners to take on the duties required to get their home sold. She enjoys both hands-on occupied and vacant staging, and she never fails to get enthusiastic when her staged property sells on the first day for top dollar and often multiple offers! This Crofton split foyer had the classic layout buyers know well — but our goal was to make it feel anything but cookie-cutter.
In neighborhoods where floor plans repeat, design becomes the differentiator.
We focused first on the three core impact spaces: the living room, dining room, and primary bedroom. The living area was styled with balanced furniture scale and intentional flow to immediately soften the split-level entry experience. Clean lines and cohesive textures elevated the space beyond builder-basic expectations.
The dining area was positioned to feel inviting and anchored — not like an afterthought between rooms. Thoughtful placement and proportion helped define the space clearly, giving buyers a sense of purpose and connection.
In the primary bedroom, we leaned into calm, refined layers to create a retreat-like atmosphere. Split foyers can sometimes feel segmented; consistency in tone and styling ensured the home felt unified from level to level.
Two additional spaces helped this home stand apart in the Crofton market:
Sunroom: A true bonus feature in this neighborhood. We styled it as a light-filled extension of the living space — showing buyers it could function as a reading room, morning coffee space, or quiet retreat.

Two-Story Home – Crofton
This small, traditional two-story home was staged by TLC Home Staging & Design to highlight the home’s livability and help buyers immediately understand how the primary spaces could function. Even in well-proportioned homes, thoughtful staging plays an important role in creating warmth, flow, and visual balance.
For this project, TLC Home focused on the living room, dining area, and primary bedroom, establishing a cohesive design that carried throughout the home. Furniture placement helped define each area clearly, while bright, stylish accessories were used to enhance the kitchen visually, adding energy and polish for listing photos and showings.
The goal was to create a presentation that felt fresh, welcoming, and easy for buyers to connect with emotionally the moment they walked through the door.
The results came quickly—the home went under contract in just two days, and TLC Home was honored to receive a five-star review following the staging.

This waterview two-story home in Deale was staged by TLC Home Staging & Design following a complete renovation and refresh that transformed the property into a home that feels entirely new. With updated finishes, fresh surfaces, and an open first-floor layout, the staging focused on reinforcing the clean, modern feel while helping buyers understand how the spaces could live day to day.
The open first floor offered an ideal opportunity to create a strong visual flow between the living and dining areas.
