We had the original windows in our 1971 build replaced with beautiful double-pane windows and a sliding door from Lifetime. The experience was great from sales to measurement through installation. There are several windows that I have to flex to be able to open and close them. Three people from the installation company tell me "that's how they are supposed to be. You could lubricate them with Lemon Pledge."
Installers left behind a lot of metal 'fish hooks' and slivers of wood - my grandkids and I walk the property in bare feet.
They had to caulk the outside a second time and I could smell it from the inside - I'm not positive there is an airtight seal.
