When we started to look for a company to replace our roof a neighbor told me there was one company that would not give you an estimate unless my spouse was present as well. And then they apply timeshare-like sales pressure when they come.

Phone rep said that because they don’t charge for their estimate (who does?) they wouldn’t come out and do an estimate unless both of us were there, something that make scheduling unnecessarily challenging.
