Pinnacle Roofing & Skylights replaced the low-slope and steep-slope shingle roofs at the John Hope Settlement House, a community based organization serving the Providence RI area.
Flat Roofs
For the low-slope roofs, we removed the ballasted EPDM rubber roof and installed an EPDM roof. As the substrate, we utilized the Helix adhesive foam system to adhere the installation below the EPDM rubber. We utilized the Aeroweb aerosol Lo-Voc to tenaciously hold the insulation for a long lasting roof. All work met the manufacturer's 20-year specifications for a labor and material system warranty. Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) is a high-density, synthetic rubber that provides long-term (40+ years) durability and weatherability. It offers quick and easy installation, and its elasticity is ideal for freeze/thaw conditions of Rhode Island.
Shingle Roofs
For the steep-slope shingle roofs, we removed the old wind damaged shingles and installed the Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingle in the Chateau Green color.
Skylights
Additionally, as part of the roof replacement process, we found that the previous skylights have been removed and covered limiting the light into the class rooms. We installed new Velux dynamic dome skylights. These skylights are made of custom made acrylic and have two layers for efficiency.
Siding
For the side walls, we removed the old wood clapboard that had begun to rot, and replace them with CertainTeed MainStreet vinyl siding in Colonial White.
