Mr. L, Thank you for this review, and for more than a decade of loyalty to Pond. Your assessment was fair. The price you were quoted came from our standard repair minimum - an hour on site still costs us a half day once scheduling and logistics are accounted for - but that formula should never have been applied without a conversation. For a long-standing customer with an odd repair like this, our practice is to escalate to a director and price it accordingly, often at little or no profit. That escalation didn't happen, and I wasn't aware of the situation until your review brought it to my attention. Once I looked into it, I reached out to you directly. Your invoice was $1,860.75, and we refunded $871.75 of that, bringing your total to $989, which is what it should have been from the start. The employee involved is no longer with the company. You were gracious in accepting the refund and told us you'd continue to consider Pond for future projects. We're glad to have earned that back, and I'm sorry it took a review to get there.
